Veterans Information
Veteran students may contact Michelle Walker by email at walkerm@cua.edu or telephone at 202-319-5308. In person service is also available in Room 10 McMahon Hall.
First-time veterans and those eligible to receive veterans’ educational benefits for approved programs at CUA must contact the Office of Enrollment Services (Room 10 McMahon Hall) to initialize benefits with CUA. Students who have never received benefits must apply to the Department of Veterans Affairs via the VA website: http://www.gibill.va.gov to establish eligibility.
Continuing veterans and those eligible to receive veterans’ educational benefits for approved programs must make contact with the Office of Enrollment Services on a semester basis, after registration, before benefits can be paid by the VA. This applies to any part-time or full-time CUA student in regular attendance, absentia, internships, comprehensive examinations, dissertation guidance, and oral defense of dissertation.
Any veteran or those eligible to receive veterans’ educational benefits in regular attendance at any other institution while also attending CUA should contact the Office of Enrollment Services about receiving concurrent benefits to which the student may be entitled on a semester basis.
Failure to request certification of benefits on a semester basis will result in delayed and/or non-payment of educational benefits.
All registration changes must be promptly reported to the Office of Enrollment Services.
If you are graduating and thereby terminating the use of your educational benefits, you must also contact the Office of Enrollment Services, as this must be reported to the Department of Veterans Affairs.
